BACKGROUND HISTORY

Harold Stanley appears to have purchased his first new bus in 1928 which was an AEC 427 with Bell bodywork. During the following year in 1929 a Chevrolet LQ 14 seater was bought new. Two buses were purchased in 1932. In 1935 a Leyland LT7 / Duple 32 seater coach was bought and in 1936 a Dodge PLB 26 seater was acquired.

It appears at one stage he had five buses and coaches.

The main routes operated were from Buckley to Shotton and from Mold to Llay Main Colliery.

In March 1939 he sold the bus business to Crosville for £3,000 and one bus was transferred.

The table below gives a list of all recorded vehicles known to have been with this operator. I am indebted to David Donati for his dedicated work in compiling this data and enabling me to present it.

In the right hand column - where available - there is a link to a photograph of the vehicle. The photo will open in a new window. Links in CAPITAL LETTERS suggest the vehicle is seen when with the operator.

Chassis and body numbers are to be found on the right hand side of the table below. You may need to scroll to see them.
