Height o' th' Hill Bus Service

Gwynfa, Bwlchgwyn Wrexham

J R Lloyd operated a service between Wrexham, Bwlchgwyn and Gwynfryn. He also ran a work peoples service from his home village to Llay Main Colliery.

It appears that his first bus was a Guy ONDF which was bought new in 1931. He then bought a mixture of buses mainly Bedfords and Dennis some new and others second hand.

In 1938, despite the fact that a new Dennis Lancet bus had been ordered, the firm sold out to Crosville in May of that year for a price of £9,500. The fleet of 6 were transferred, The ordered Dennis, which had the registration number DFM127, was subsequently delivered in July of that year to Crosville becoming WA1 in their fleet.

In the right hand column - where available - there is a link to a photograph of the vehicle. The photo will open in a new window. Links in CAPITAL LETTERS suggest the vehicle is seen when with the operator.

Chassis and body numbers are to be found on the right hand side of the table below. You may need to scroll to see them.
