BACKGROUND HISTORY

J R Lloyd operated a service between Wrexham, Bwlchgwyn and Gwynfryn. He also ran a work peoples service from his home village to Llay Main Colliery.

It appears that his first bus was a Guy ONDF which was bought new in 1931. He then bought a mixture of buses mainly Bedfords and Dennis some new and others second hand.

In 1938, despite the fact that a new Dennis Lancet bus had been ordered, the firm sold out to Crosville in May of that year for a price of £9,500. The fleet of 6 were transferred, The ordered Dennis, which had the registration number DFM127, was subsequently delivered in July of that year to Crosville becoming WA1 in their fleet.
