BACKGROUND HISTORY

Llewelyn Ewart Roberts started his business from the village of Clawddnewydd together with his wife Margaret Elizabeth Roberts and his son Erfyl. Initially the business traded as L E Roberts and Son. It started mainly with taxis and minibuses but extended to full size buses. In 1988 the first new coach was purchased a 27 seater Mercedes Vario with a North West Coach Sales body. From 1990 the trading name Cloion Coaches was utilised.

In 2001 a new depot at Lon Parcwr was utilised. Erfyl obtained an operators licence in his own name and services were operated to various locations around Ruthin.

In March 2002 the premises at Lon Parcwr, the goodwill and one vehicle was sold to GHA. This company then utilised this depot as their base for operations in the Denbighshire area.  Erfyl went to work for GHA as a mechanic.
