Operating throughout a wide area of north and mid Wales the business is a family led company with founder Wyn Lloyd and son Dan being the principals at its head. There is a varied fleet of vehicles of over 100 including taxis with over 110 employees including engineering staff and those employed by Mach Taxis making them one of the largest employers in their area.

The firm is involved in commercial and tendered bus services. It makes a significant input to the TrawsCymru network. There are numerous school contracts, rail replacement work, private hire and also there is a taxi and private hire business.

Founder Wyn Lloyd grew up on a farm and on leaving school studied agricultural engineering. However his first industrial experience was with Mid Wales Motorways where he was able to develop his engineering skills which later secured him various jobs with Crosville. This included a role as driver/mechanic at Machynlleth then a period at Dolgellau for a year or so before returning to eventually take charge at the then Crosville Wales depot at Machynlleth – which happens to be the head office of his current business.

In 2001 Wyn started his own bus and coach business and was able to apply the various skills knowledge and experience he had gained in his former employment.

Initially there was a school contract to Dinas Mawddwy and later that year he operated a demand responsive services in the Dinas Mawddwy and Aberhosan areas. This developed into a full Machynlleth to Dinas Mawddwy service in the following year. In 2003 contracts from Arriva Wales were gained including the Tywyn - Minffordd - Dolgellau service together with the Tywyn local service. In 2004 he was operating Machynlleth local services and other services to Aberllefenni, Tywyn and Llanegryn. In November 2004 he started the 28A Tywyn to Aberystwyth service and in August 2005 the Machynlleth to Newtown service was gained from Arriva. Having secured Bala schools contract a new base at Llanuwchllyn was required. The next few years saw the take over of the X29 Machynlleth to Tywyn and the operation of the hourly X28 Machynlleth to Aberystwyth service. There then followed the 28 Tywyn to Dolgellau route and jointly with Express Motors, the X32 Aberystwyth to Bangor service that was later relaunched as the T2, being part of the TrawsCymru network. Following the demise of GHA in 2016 Lloyds took over the T3 Wrexham to Barmouth route. Later that year following the demise of Lewis of Llanrhystud a further route was added namely the 585 Aberystwyth to Lampeter. In 2018 following the closure of Express Motors there was further expansion with a large number of services in the south of Gwynedd being added to the services provided. In 2018 Lloyds incorporated the former X85 Machynlleth to Newtown service into the newly created T12 service and together with Tanat Valley Lloyds provide a major contribution to this new service that works from Machynlleth through to Wrexham.
